No Hot Water? Hot Water System Repairs in Sydney

No hot water, lukewarm water, a dripping relief valve, a pilot that keeps going out or a leaking tank. We find the faulty part and fix it, or tell you honestly when the unit needs replacing. 24/7, $0 call-out fee.

No surprise bills: $0 call-out and a fixed price before any work starts.

Our guarantee: 12 months on our workmanship, in writing. What it covers

Most hot water problems come down to one faulty part. We repair gas and electric hot water systems, including continuous flow units, and replace thermostats, elements, relief valves and pilots. We service and repair Rinnai, Rheem, Dux, Thermann, Vulcan and AquaMAX systems. When a repair isn't worth it, for example when the tank itself is leaking, we replace the unit. No hot water and leaking tanks are covered 24/7, and for an emergency we aim to be with you within 60 minutes. You get a fixed price before we start, and our workmanship is covered for 12 months. Gas work is done by our licensed gas fitters.

These are the faults we see most often, and what each one usually means.

On an electric system, common causes are a tripped circuit, a failed element or a faulty thermostat. On a gas system, it is often a pilot that has gone out, an ignition fault or a problem with the gas supply.

Often a failing thermostat or element on an electric system, or a burner fault on gas. Sediment in the bottom of a tank, or a household that has outgrown the system, can do the same.

A little water from the relief valve while the water heats can be normal. A steady flow, or a valve that drips all day, usually means a worn valve or pressure that is too high.

If the pilot won't stay lit after relighting it as the unit's instructions say, the cause is usually a faulty part in the pilot assembly or a gas supply issue. That is a job for a licensed gas fitter.

A leak from a fitting or valve is usually a repair. Water coming from the tank itself means the tank has failed, and it needs replacing.

A continuous flow unit that won't fire up can be an ignition, gas supply or water flow fault. We check the unit and its gas, cold and hot connections.

A failed thermostat or element, a worn relief valve, a pilot fault, or a leak from a fitting rather than the tank. These are single parts, and a system that is otherwise sound can keep going for years.

Water leaking from the tank itself, rust coming through the tank, or an older system that keeps needing parts. We'll tell you plainly when repairing it isn't worth the money, and give you a fixed price for a new system.

If it needs replacing, we install a new gas or electric storage system or a continuous flow unit. Our hot water systems and instantaneous hot water pages cover the options.

Only do what you can do safely. Anything beyond this is a job for a licensed plumber, electrician or gas fitter.

Close the cold water valve on the inlet pipe at the unit. For an electric system, switch off its circuit at the switchboard if you can reach it without standing in water. For gas, turn the unit's gas control off.

Get everyone outside, leave switches and appliances alone, and call your gas distributor's emergency line or 000 from outside. Then call a licensed gas fitter.

How It Works

01

02

You get a fixed price for the repair, or for a replacement if repair isn't worth it.

03

We replace the faulty part: thermostat, element, relief valve or pilot.

04

We run the hot water and check for leaks before we leave.

Common Questions

On an electric system, check whether the hot water circuit has tripped at the switchboard. If it trips again, leave it off and call, because that points to a fault such as a failed element. On gas, the pilot may have gone out, or there may be an ignition or gas supply fault. We find the faulty part and give you a fixed price to fix it.

Common causes are a failing thermostat or element on an electric system, a burner fault on a gas system, or sediment built up in the tank. We work out which before recommending a repair.

A small amount of water while the system is heating can be normal. A steady flow, or a valve that drips all day, usually means a worn valve or pressure that is too high. Replacing the relief valve is a common repair.

Yes. We're available 24/7 with a $0 call-out fee, and for an emergency such as a leaking tank we aim to be with you within 60 minutes.

If a single part has failed, such as a thermostat, element, relief valve or pilot, a repair usually makes sense. If the tank itself is leaking or rusting through, it needs replacing. Either way, we give you a fixed price before we start.

We service and repair Rinnai, Rheem, Dux, Thermann, Vulcan and AquaMAX hot water systems, gas and electric, including continuous flow.
