A dishwasher needs three things: a water supply with its own isolation tap, a waste connection into the sink plumbing, and a power point. We do the plumbing. For a straight replacement we disconnect the old machine, connect the new one to the existing supply and waste, and check both. For a new dishwasher where there wasn't one before, we add the isolation tap on the water line and a waste connection at the sink, with the drain hose run so dirty water can't siphon back into the machine. Then we run it and check for leaks. The power point, if there isn't one, is a job for a licensed electrician. You get a fixed price before we start.

Most dishwashers connect to the cold water line under the sink, with their own tap so the machine can be turned off without shutting off the sink. Check your manual: it says whether your model needs cold or can take hot.

The drain hose connects into the sink waste, usually through a spigot on the trap or waste pipe. If your sink waste doesn't have one, we fit it.

The hose needs to rise above the waste connection before dropping into it, as the manufacturer specifies, so dirty sink water can't siphon back into the dishwasher.

Usually in the cupboard next to the cavity. If there isn't one, it's a job for a licensed electrician.

Often a loose or worn inlet hose, a failed connection at the tap, or the drain hose not seated properly in the waste.

Can be a kink in the drain hose, a blocked filter, or a blockage in the sink waste the dishwasher drains into.

If dishwasher water backs up into the sink, the shared waste pipe is partly blocked further down.

Dirty water siphoning back from the sink, from a drain hose that isn't run high enough, is one cause. Re-running the hose often fixes it.

How It Works

01

Water, waste and power under the sink, and the cavity the machine goes in.

02

We quote the connection, and any new tap or waste fitting it needs.

03

Water supply and waste connected, drain hose run properly.

04

Machine run and every connection checked for leaks.

Common Questions

Yes. We connect the water supply and the waste, check both for leaks and run the machine before we leave.

Usually, yes. We add an isolation tap on the water line and a waste connection at the sink. The cavity in the cabinetry and a power point need sorting too; the power point is a job for a licensed electrician.

Most connect to cold. Your manual says which your model needs.

We disconnect the old machine and pull it out so the new one can go in. Ask us when you book if you need it taken away.

Often the inlet hose, the connection at the tap or the drain hose at the waste. If it's the machine itself, it's a job for the manufacturer or an appliance repairer.

We give you a fixed price before we start, with a $0 call-out fee.
