About This Service
The washing machine and laundry tub share the same plumbing: hot and cold taps above, and a waste the machine drains into. We install and replace laundry tubs, freestanding or set into a cabinet, with their taps and waste, and connect washing machines to the water supply and drainage. When the machine is in a new spot, we add washing machine taps and a waste point there. We also replace old, stiff or leaking washing machine taps, and when a machine's drain overflows the tub, we look at the waste. Every connection is checked for leaks before we leave. You get a fixed price before we start.

Freestanding tubs
A stainless steel tub on a frame is the simple option, and quick to swap.
Tubs in a cabinet
A tub set into a cabinet hides the pipes and adds storage. If the cabinetry is new, we connect the tub once it's in.
Taps for the tub
Wall-mounted taps or a mixer on the tub. If you're replacing the tub, it's a good time to replace old taps too.
Moving the tub
Moving a tub to a new spot means moving the waste, which needs fall to the drain. We look at it before you settle the layout.

Washing machine taps
The machine's inlet hoses screw onto hot and cold taps on the wall. Old taps that are stiff, seized or dripping are worth replacing, so you can turn the machine's water off when you need to.
The waste
The drain hose hooks into the laundry tub or a standpipe in the wall. It needs to sit securely so it can't jump out when the machine pumps out.
A machine in a new spot
If the machine is moving, for example in a laundry renovation or into a cupboard, we add taps and a waste point where it's going.
Inlet hoses
Inlet hoses wear out. A hose that is bulging, cracked or weeping at the ends is worth replacing before it fails.

Can you add washing machine taps in a new spot?
Yes. We run hot and cold water and add a waste point where the machine is going.
My laundry tub overflows when the machine drains. Why?
Usually the tub's waste is partly blocked, often with lint, so it can't keep up with the machine pumping out. We clear it, and if the waste is undersized for the machine, we tell you the options.
My washing machine taps are stiff and drip. Can they be replaced?
Yes. We replace old washing machine taps so the machine's water can be turned off easily.
