Kitchen Sink Installation & Replacement Sydney

A new kitchen sink, or an old, chipped or stained one to replace? We fit the sink, the waste and the mixer, connect the dishwasher, and check every joint for leaks. Franke or your own choice.

No surprise bills: $0 call-out and a fixed price before any work starts.

Our guarantee: 12 months on our workmanship, in writing. What it covers

Swapping a kitchen sink is part plumbing, part benchtop. The sink has to suit the hole in the bench, or the bench has to be cut to suit the sink, which is a job for a stonemason or cabinetmaker. Once the sink is in, we fit the waste and trap, connect the overflow, put in the mixer and its connectors, and connect the dishwasher drain. A double-bowl sink needs both bowls joined into the waste, and a sink in a new position needs the waste and water lines to reach it. We install top-mount, undermount and flush-mount sinks, single and double bowl, including Franke, or a sink you've chosen. Fixed price before we start, 12 months on our workmanship.

The sink sits on top of the bench, with its rim covering the edge of the cut-out. The simplest to replace, and the usual choice on laminate benches.

Fixed under the benchtop, so the bench edge runs straight into the bowl. It needs a stone or solid benchtop with a cut-out made and polished for that sink, so it's usually chosen with the benchtop.

Set into a rebate so the rim sits level with the bench. Also cut to suit the sink, by the benchtop maker.

The easiest replacement is a top-mount sink the same size as the old one, or slightly bigger so the rim covers the old cut-out. Measure the hole, not just the old sink.

Turning a top-mount sink into an undermount means a new cut-out, and on most benches a new benchtop. It's usually a renovation job.

Some sinks come with a tap hole in the sink, others need the mixer mounted on the bench. Check where your mixer will go.

A different bowl layout can put the waste in a different spot. Small changes are taken up in the trap; bigger ones need the waste pipe changed.

A new waste in each bowl, joined into a trap and connected to the drain, with the overflow connected where the sink has one.

The mixer fitted with new connectors to the hot and cold isolation valves.

The dishwasher drain connected to the sink waste and run so dirty water can't siphon back into the machine.

If you have a filter tap or boiling water unit, it's reconnected or fitted at the same visit.

How It Works

01

Sink type, benchtop cut-out and the waste position.

02

Water off, old sink, mixer and waste disconnected and lifted out.

03

New sink set in, waste, trap, mixer and dishwasher drain connected.

04

Both bowls filled and drained, every joint checked for leaks.

Common Questions

Yes. Check it suits your benchtop cut-out before you buy, or send us the model and we'll check it.

No. Cutting or enlarging a benchtop is a job for a stonemason or cabinetmaker. We install the sink and do the plumbing once the cut-out is ready.

Usually only with a new or re-cut benchtop, because an undermount needs a polished cut-out made for that sink. It's normally done as part of a kitchen renovation.

Yes. We install the mixer with new connectors, whether it's your old one being reused or a new one.

Yes. The waste pipe needs fall to the drain, so on a slab a move can mean cutting the slab. Our kitchen plumbing page covers moving a sink or adding an island.
