Gas Line Installation & Gas Pipe Relocation Sydney

Need gas where there isn't any, or a gas pipe in the way of a renovation? Our licensed gas fitters run new gas lines, move existing ones, test the work for leaks and provide a compliance certificate.

No surprise bills: $0 call-out and a fixed price before any work starts.

Our guarantee: 12 months on our workmanship, in writing. What it covers

Every gas appliance in the house is fed by gas pipe running from the meter. Adding an appliance in a new spot, or changing a layout, means changing that pipework. We run new gas lines from your existing supply to cooktops, ovens, heaters, barbecues and gas hot water, move gas pipes that are in the way of a kitchen, bathroom or extension, and cap off lines that are no longer needed. The new pipe has to be sized to carry enough gas for everything that might run at once, and routed and protected properly, whether it goes under the floor, through the roof space, along an outside wall or underground. Where a home has no gas connection yet, or the connection needs changing, that part goes through Jemena, the gas network in Sydney, and we help with it where needed. Every joint is tested for leaks and we provide a compliance certificate for the work, where required. Fixed price before we start, 12 months on our workmanship.

A gas cooktop on an island bench, a heater in a room that never had gas, a barbecue on a new deck. Each needs a line run from the existing pipework.

Swapping an electric cooktop or hot water system for gas needs a line where there was none, and a supply that can carry the extra load.

New rooms and new buildings on the block need gas run out to them, ideally planned before the slab or the walls go in.

A gas continuous flow hot water unit uses much more gas at once than an old storage tank. The existing pipe may need upsizing to keep up.

If the cooktop moves across the kitchen, the gas line moves with it. It's done at rough-in, while the walls and floor are open.

Old gas pipes often run through walls that are coming out, or under floors being replaced. They're rerouted before the builder needs the space.

Lines to appliances that have been removed are disconnected and capped properly, not left live and forgotten in a wall.

Gas routes are easier to plan before the kitchen design is final, especially on a concrete slab with no space underneath.

Do these in order, and only what you can do safely.

Don't light anything, and don't turn lights, appliances or power points on or off. A switch can spark.

If you can reach the gas meter on your way out, turn the valve a quarter turn so the lever sits across the pipe. If the smell is strong, don't stop to do it.

From outside, call Jemena's faults and emergencies line on 131 909 for natural gas in Sydney, your supplier for LPG, or 000 if anyone is unwell or there is immediate danger.

The leak has to be found and repaired by a licensed gas fitter before the gas goes back on.

How It Works

01

From the meter or existing pipe to the new spot, and what it has to pass through.

02

Make sure the line can carry enough gas for every appliance on it.

03

New pipe run, fixed and protected, and old lines capped where needed.

04

Tested for leaks, appliances run, compliance certificate where required.

Common Questions

Yes. We run new gas lines from your existing gas pipework to cooktops, ovens, heaters, barbecues and gas hot water, then test the work for leaks.

Yes. We reroute gas pipes that are in the way, move lines when an appliance changes position, and cap off lines that are no longer needed. It's easiest done while the walls and floors are open.

The connection to the gas network goes through Jemena, the gas network in Sydney, usually arranged through a gas retailer. We help with that where needed, and run the gas pipework inside your property once it's connected.

Not always. Gas pipe has to be sized for the total gas that every appliance on it might use at once. Adding a large appliance, such as a continuous flow hot water unit, can mean upsizing part of the line. We check it before quoting.

Yes. We provide a compliance certificate for the gas work we do, where required.

It depends on how far the line runs and what it has to go through. We give you a fixed price before we start, with a $0 call-out fee.
