A tap that keeps dripping after you turn it off usually has a worn washer or cartridge. We replace tap washers and cartridges in kitchen, bathroom, laundry and outdoor taps and mixers, and replace the whole tap or mixer when a repair isn't worth it. If you're thinking about a new kitchen mixer, see our Kitchen Mixer Upgrade on the offers page. You get a fixed price before we start, there is a $0 call-out fee, and our workmanship is covered for 12 months.

Older taps that take several turns to close shut off against a rubber washer. Over time it wears or hardens, and the tap starts to drip. A new washer usually fixes it.

Mixers and quarter-turn taps shut off with a cartridge instead of a washer. When it wears, the tap drips or gets hard to turn. The cartridge can be replaced.

Water around the handle or where the tap meets the bench or wall commonly comes from worn seals inside the tap, or from the cartridge.

Water in the cupboard is often a connection or flexi hose under the sink rather than the tap itself. An old or bulging flexi hose is worth replacing before it bursts.

A dripping tap with a worn washer or cartridge, where the tap body is in good condition.

A tap body that is corroded or damaged, a tap that keeps leaking after repairs, or an older tap or mixer whose parts are no longer available.

If you'd rather replace it, we install new taps and mixers, with tapware brands including Methven, Phoenix, Grohe, Mizu, Posh and Franke. Our Kitchen Mixer Upgrade is on the offers page.
