Council's guidelines say pipe damage is not a reason to remove a tree where there are alternatives, and a plumber's report can be lodged with a tree application. Part of Wahroonga is in Hornsby Shire, which has its own rules, so check with the right council first.
Will relining change the look of a heritage property?
Relining happens inside the existing pipe and is done through access points, so there is usually nothing to see afterwards. If other work is planned on a heritage-listed home or in a conservation area, check council requirements before you start.
Why does hot water take so long to reach our ensuite?
Usually distance. The water sitting in a long pipe has cooled and must run out before hot water arrives. Depending on the house, the fix may be a better pipe route, insulation, or a second hot water unit closer to the bathroom.
